Debra Atlas is an Eco-Enthusiast!

A freelance environmental writer,  Debra’s work focuses primarily on the possibilities and opportunities that critical environmental issues present. Her articles are meant to be thought-provoking and informative, even inspiring.

Debra has written for 3 respected business newspapers in northern California, most recently writing environmental and business-related pieces for the Upstate Business Journal. She currently writes a weekly feature on innovative environmentally-related consumer products for the Record Searchlight newspaper.

Debra has covered a number of environmentally-related conferences. These include

1. the “Green Concepts for a Regional Economy: Making Economic Development a Sustainable Practice Conference”, sponsored by the National Association of Development Organizations
2. Bioenergy Sustainability conference at U.C. Davis, sponsored by the California Biomass Collaborative
3. the 26th annual Border Governors Conference – “Building Green Economies” – hosted in California at Universal Studios, in partnership with General Electric

Deba’s articles are published in a variety of publications. Her article “The New Face of Retail” was featured in Sustainable Industries’ 2008 Annual Green Guide for Real Estate.

Debra is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists.
