Valcent, makers of the amazing VertiCropTM Vertical Farming System that was installed at the Paignton Zoo in England, announced their amazing green food wall is almost ready to harvest it’s first crop, with the 2nd planting close behind.

The endive, leafy and red lettuce plants are two weeks old and thriving. Kevin Frediani, plant curator at the Zoo said. “We are confident that the VertiCrop(TM) System will produce a variety of vegetables and crops at a great cost savings for the Zoo, with the added value of producing fresh and more nutritious food on a year round basis.”

Looking at these amazing pictures, makes me wish I could have something like this in my own backyard!
