Seventh Generation’s new eco-friendly laundry bottle

Known for leading their industry down the green path, Seventh Generation has come up with a new first. They’ve just introduced a new laundry detergent bottle made from 100 percent  recycled cardboard and newspaper.

Designed with Ecologic Brands for their Natural 4X Laundry Detergent, this innovative bottle has a fully recyclable outer shell  made from a combination of 70 percent recycled cardboard fibers and 30 percent old newspaper fibers. Inside, it features a recyclable lightweight plastic pouch. As an added bonus, the company says the bottle uses 66 percent less plastic than the bottle used for their standard 100 ounce 2X detergent.

This cool eco-friendly bottle will hit natural product retailers shelves by late March. Definitely a giant step forward.

  1. the key problem here is the quote “inside it contains a lightweight plastic pouch”. so they are still using plastic, which no one will recycle. how about just using the normal powder detergent that already comes in a recycled cardboard box?

  2. What a fantastic site and informative posts I definitely will bookmark your website
