Last Friday, the Department of Agriculture announced it had approved  a potato genetically engineered to reduce the amounts of a potentially harmful ingredient in French fries and potato chip for commercial planting.

New $25 million study on GMO food safety to launch

GMO rice graphicWith the apparent defeat in Tuesday’s election of mandatory GMO labeling, it’s fitting that despite the millions of dollars spent by the Grocery Manufacturing Association and the giant food manufacturers to help defeat it, a new $25 million study is about to be launched into the safety of GMO foods and pesticide use.
